Restaurants in Dalyan: There is a wide choice of restaurants to choose from in Dalyan with a lot of European cuisine on offer, however you will also find a lot of Turkish cuisine as well as seafood, British and Spanish to name but a few.
Five minutes from Dalyan on the Ortaca road you will find the Ley Ley restaurant, don't worry about how you get there as they offer a free bus service from Dalyan. The restaurant sits in a pleasant garden with a man made pond.
Supermarkets: There are five good sized supermarkets in Dalyan and they are all open seven days a week. They have extended opening hours during the summer months. On the main road into Dalyan you will find the first of two Sevikoglu supermarkets next to the Shell garage, further down on the left hand side you will find Migros which is open until 9pm in the winter and midnight during the summer months. On the opposite side of the road situated behind Is Bank you can find Dia supermarket. BIM and Sok supermarkets are only open during the summer months.
Mosquitoes: You may be bothered by mosquitoes in the evenings, however repellent can be bought at local pharmacies or from the local markets. "Sin Kov" is considered to be an excellent repellent. Villa Lochville has a large portable electric flying insect killer in the villa for your use.
Transport in Dalyan: There is no need to hire a car in Dalyan as Villa Lochville is very close to the centre of town, however if you find the shopping too heavy you can always get a taxi back. If you would like to go further afield then the local Dolmus (minibuses) are very reliable and cheap. You can also hire bikes, mopeds /scooters and cars.
Post Office: The post office in Dalyan is called Ptt. You can also buy local phone cards for phoning home from here.
Markets: Every Saturday there is a local market in Dalyan, which is currently held in the town centre and is a great place for fruit, vegetables and genuine fakes, (tee-shirts, handbags etc.), the Turkish delight should not be missed and if you are lucky you will be offered a free sample.
